Anyone who knows me, also knows how much I love my dogs, and the length and expense I go to , to keep them happy and healthy. Beverley Manners August 26th 2009
The Australian Labradoodle’s unique connectedness to humans makes them yearn to be near you. The most cruel thing that could happen to the Australian Labradoodle would be to deprive it of human companionship. If you want a dog to live outside and are not prepared to put in the time and effort to make it a true family member then you should not consider an Australian Labradoodle. Beverley Manners website 2009.
Taking our cue from the Guide Dogs Program, Rutland Manor pioneered the Guardian Home Concept with the breeding of Australian Labradoodles, in keeping with our dislike of dogs being kept in a “kennel” environment. This practice has now become popular accross the world and helps ensure the quality of life for breeding dogs. Beverley Manners website 2009
Rutland Manor has always had open doors (and gates) and so many people from around Australia and other countries have stayed here and seen exactly how the dogs really are kept and treated. The only thing that is more surprising than the vicious attack of Debra Tranter (whose motive is that she WANTS every breeder shut down because she says dogs should not be bred while there is a dog still in a shelter) is that anyone actually believes this rubbish when they have not seen for themselves. It may help to set your mind at rest about the true practices of Rutland Manor, to know that the Monash University in Melbourne recently approached me to ask for my assistance in developing a research project on the cognitive behavior of puppies from birth to weaning. They have visited my property on three occasions and we are expecting this project to cover a number of months. The outcomes of the research may be used to frame the federal code of practice for the raising of puppies, which is something that has not been done before. It is most unlikely that Monash would have proceeded to work with Rutland Manor if conditions here were as some have claimed. Of course it is up to you whether you choose to believe unsubstantiated and shockingly inaccurate gossip, or whether the above information may ease your mind.

MONASH UNIVERSITY’S REPLY
Monash University is not conducting any research at Rutland Manor nor in association with Rutland Manor. When you brought to our attention the use of Monash University’s name on the website in question the proprietor was conducted. I noted Monash’s name was removed but the website still refers to “university studies”. I have undertaken a resarch of the scientific literature and have found no reference to Rutland Manor and any university studies and therefore cannot verify the claim on the website

Simon Barrett, Manager Research Ethic and Compliance, Monash University.
THE TRUTH CANNOT BE CHANGED UNTIL IT CAN BE SEEN
Over the last few months a team of activists have been inspecting Rutland Manor to document the dogs living conditions and violations to the Code of Practice for Breeding and Rearing Establishments. During this time Beverley Manners has continued to publicly attack those people who know the truth and are speaking out. Beverley seems to spend more time on the computer in damage control then actually looking after her dogs.
The team has taken hundreds of photos and hours of video footage and it is clearly obvious that these dogs who have made Beverley Manners a millionaire live in filthy squalor.
The pens are tiny with barely enough room for the raised shredded beds. There is no warm bedding at all for these dogs who are freezing in this weather. On some occasions when the team inspected the property it was a bitterly cold 2 degrees.
One of the most distressing things witnessed was the claw marks around all 4 walls of each dogs pen. Confinement has obviously damaged these poor dogs who have nothing to do except scratch at their 4 walls.
The larger dogs have more room, they are housed inside a tin shed with concrete floors and nothing but shredded beds to sit on to get them of the cold filthy concrete.
The team report an overwhelming stench from the sheds and that “our hands were black just from patting the dogs, some of the dogs have mats in their coats the size of my fist”. The dogs were “incredibly desperate for attention and would lick our faces constantly and lean up against us desperate for some cuddles and love”.

Politely ask that they withdraw Rutland Manors permit due to repeated violations to the code of practice, such as back to back breeding of the dogs with no rest in between litters, underage breeding from as young as 8 months and illegal debarking of all the dogs. Beverley Manners has even “rescued” a dog from a pound and bred 55 puppies fom her and then sold the puppies for between $1800-$2500 with pedigrees!! Beverley is a compulsive liar and a master at manipulating the truth to save her million dollar business.
THESE DOGS DO NOT HAVE A VOICE AND THEY NEED YOU TO SPEAK FOR THEM
Update 31st August 2009
Overnight Beverley has updated her website with more lies as we expected.
The photos of kennels displayed on her website as “demolished and rebuilt” are correct ( a very old photograph above that Beverley has published on her website). However our photographs were taken inside these “rebuilt kennels” not the outside, and we photographed the name of each dog on the kennel door.
Beverley claims on her website that in one picture a “poor traumatized little dog is being dragged by the throat”. I am sure I dont need to explain this to regular readers but for Beverleys sake and her diminishing supporters sake here’s the facts. The dog in question is Mask, (Rutlands Lil Masquerade) the activists noted that Mask had mats the size of their fist as they were patting her, they were patting her under her chin to check for mats but also to give her some much needed attention and love.
There are two large sheds on the property containing most of the dogs( pictured here). There is a “nursery shed” capable of holding about 4 dogs and their puppies (currently has Kirsty, Shania, Fashion and Beauty). There are 4 large tin sheds down the back where the large adult males are kept (near Jag, the Rottie guard dog) and there are 2 outdoor pens where we filmed five 12 week old puppies left outside in the rain.
Beverley claims we moved dogs and placed them in unused sheds with old beds waiting for disposal? Where would we move over 20 dogs from ? and why would we move dogs? We photographed and filmed every area of the property exactly as it was. After 18 years we are not about to destroy our credibility by falsifying the evidence and using “fabricated photographs”
Beverley you know very well that what we photographed is true and correct, you have no other areas to keep all these dogs. Shame on you for making up such lies.
The activists did not see Happy (pound puppy), Siggy, Brolly or Anya. Now lets see if Beverley accuses us of stealing these dogs? Where are the dogs Beverley, especially pound puppy, Happy. As for stealing name tags, what for? we simply photographed them all?
This morning the RSPCA confirmed to me the photos are exactly what they have witnessed on their inspections. However as long as the dogs have shelter and food/water they cannot act under the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals Act.
Shame on you Beverley for spending the time to make up lies on the internet rather than get out there and give these dogs a decent bed at the very least. After all you used to support and promote this website, before you were caught out.
