Pets Paradise website – December 2010
Visit Pets Paradise to donate a gift under the tree for animals in need this Christmas.
RSPCA VICTORIA statement 21 Dec 2010
The RSPCA has received numerous communications from the community thats some Pets Paradise stores are fundraising on our behalf this festive season. We would like to alert the public that we have not received any donations from any Pets Paradise store, and have actively contacted Pets Paradise head office to alert its store managers that we wish for them to cease using our brand to secure donations from the public.
The RSPCA is in no way associated with Pets Paradise and will not be accepting any donations from pet shops.
Pets Paradise are desperately trying to attach them selves to the rescue community. Lost Dogs Home, Pets Haven Animal Shelter, RSPCA and other shelters and rescue groups have all refused to accept donations of gifts from Pets Paradise and have actively been advising Pets Paradise head office and individual stores to stop using their name.
So Pets Paradise where are all these public donations actually going ?
Please email Laura Riley, Pets Paradise Marketing & Buying Assistant and ask. laura_riley@prh.net.au
In another attempt to gain public credibility Pets Paradise are continuing to display signage stating to the consumer they do not support puppy factories. Some even go as far as stating they will help shut them down!
Pets Paradise – please note, you are welcome to stop providing the puppy factories and backyard breeders with a retail outlet at any time.
This practice of selling pets via retail outlets is becoming more and more repugnant to the public who are turning to adoption and choosing to save a life, rather than condemn a life by purchasing from a pet shop.
The mothers are imprisoned miles away, hidden from view, their lives will last as long as their bodies will hold out. Some may never move a few metres from where they were born.
This is the picture the pet shops don’t want you to see.
