Focus on what matters!

I’ve been called shrill, enemy seeking, divisive, an advocate for torture, in league with puppy mills, and told I want animals to suffer and die. All ironic given that the only thing I’ve advocated for is an end to killing. Those of you fighting for the animals in your community have no doubt been attacked as well. It isn’t pleasant. Especially if, like in my case, they build websites around attacking you. But take heart. If they ignore you, you aren’t making an impact. Take solace in the fact that the entire conversation not just accross the country, but accross the world has changed. They are firmly on the defensive, and it is just a matter of time before they are defeated. We are witnessing the last gasp of the dinosaurs. ~ Nathan Winograd.

It’s not easy maintaining your integrity when there are those that are intent on pulling you apart, judging, ridiculing and trying to destroy everything you believe and fight for. Those people will always be there no matter what, accept it and move on.

Oscar’s release came about because I surrounderd myself with people that believed. We all focused on what mattered, even when things became so fragile and raw, none of us ever lost hope, and we kept each other focused even though we felt like screaming. We knew we were fighting for what was right and just. Perhaps one day I will talk about the last 18 months, but not yet, we have important work to do. There are thousands of dogs in sheds right now. Focus on what matters!

To the people that come here because you truly believe I thankyou from the bottom of my heart. Continue to focus on what matters, ignore the rest, they are not here for the animals, they have other agenda’s and do not believe the animals deserve a united voice. Let them wallow in their self pity and negativity.

You were born with wings, dont crawl, learn to use them and fly, the animals need us. Stand together, support each other, be there for each other. We are fighting a grubby vile industry and sometimes its hard to even function day to day, the brutality, the cruelty, the suffering all take their toll, please dont give up on each other, the power is in our hands. The animals need us to be strong and united and we will shut down this industry.

We have Oscar

We will have Oscar’s Law

See you on the steps of Parliament, Melbourne, Sunday September 18th midday

We will have Osacar’s Law. Oscar finally being safe and loved shows us all that we don’t need miracles. All we need is to speak the truth and to fight for those that can’t.

Thankyou Debra! I would love to buy a calendar featuring all Oscar pics – or better yet, a book with his story and pictures that I can show people to explain why we need Oscar’s Law.

Debra thank you for all the you do. On behalf of my little Tully girl who, despite so much effort, didn’t make it. I thank you for caring, and for taking a stand. I will be there on September 18th. Marching for Tully, Oscar, Lexie, Ollie, Mocha, and all the others that are waiting for someone to care enough to give them a chance. Thank you for giving me a channel for my disgust and desire to change this. As long as I am alive I will fight for Oscar’s Law. This is the promise I made to Tully as I held her as she went to another place. See you on the 18th…

Oscars Law was written well before it was manifest. I have said it before and say it again Debra-Believe in the unbelievable and accept that time has a part to play and it will come your way. For you to be reunited with Oscar, was in keeping your faith and dreaming because you dared to dream. Some of us do not know how to use those wings granted to us and others spread them far and wide to lift and educate those that have not learned how to fly or have ceased to fly. I, intentionally used the past tense in the first sentence ie: before it was manifest..IT IS NOW!!! Fly Debra OSCARS LAW HAS MANIFESTED- Time.

Power to the people, who speak up for these creatures. Used and abused, then thrown away like yesterdays garbage. I for one will keep signing, posting, using my voice, freedom of speach to support each and every one of you. If you choose to keep animals, then you must commit yourself to them. Look after them, see to their needs, and most of all show them love and compassion. Oscar, you are the first step in a long journey, but we will not stop until the last step is taken.

Thank you Debra. That’s great. I wish we could free all dogs from the hands of this awful money grabing people. You’ve inspired a lot of people. We must continue to fight for the voiceless.

You’re an inspiration to us Debra! I was moved by your words.
    You are absolutely right here,
“You were born with wings, dont crawl, learn to use them and fly, the animals need us. Stand together, support each other, be there for each other. We are fighting a grubby vile industry and sometimes its hard to even function day to day, the brutality, the cruelty, the suffering all take their toll, please dont give up on each other, the power is in our hands. The animals need us to be strong and united and we will shut down this industry.”

After being given a belting on my views on a website today, reading this was just what I needed. You are an angel Debra and I for one will always be with you and fighting every step of the way. I will talk until there is no more talk left. God bless the little souls stuck in the sheds tonight..I will pray and I will never give up…I PROMISE. xo

You truly are an amazing, inspiring woman Debra, and thanks to your incredible strength and huge heart little Oscar finally knows what it is to be loved and cared for as he deserves, by his very own angel on earth! Thank you for not giving up, thank you for all you do…the horrors you encounter must eat at your soul. My wish for you, is that for very tear you shed and for every heartbreaking moment you endure for these poor suffering animals, another voice is added to the chorus, another dedicated supporter joins the cause, and a collective step forward is made towards the day Oscar’s Law is a reality! Stay strong, we are with you all the way! Bless you!
